THEME: AND THEY SUNG HOSANNA

Beloved in Christ, Today is Palm Sunday. This reminds us that we have entered Holy Week, where we relive the events of the suffering and death of Jesus Christ.

This week then is a very wonderful and life transforming period for us as we journey with Jesus to the cross.

Beloved, in celebrating the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, the Palm and the donkey communicates a very important message for us. For the Palms respresent the royalty of Jesus while the donkey reminds us of the humility of Christ.

My dear friend, the events of this week serves as a warning to us in our life. Thus, my child be careful with praise singers and don’t run away from criticism. Rather let us embrace all criticism and work on those that needs to be worked on.

But sadly most leaders in our world today are surrounded not by real friends . This is because they don’t want to hear the truth themselves but rather what they want to hear sweet things about themselves.

Beloved , real friends will sing your praise when you deserve but will also paint out your faults. We therefore need not allow them and their words alone to determine us.

The phrase “ and they sung Hosanna” is something that should engage our mind during this one week. And it’s a warning about our alertness and commitment to the things of God. For Jesus we are to move away from the testimony of men because the testimony of God is greater(1 John 5:9). Most often the very people who sing your praise do so for their selfish interest.

We therefore need to be cautious and alert when working with people of this caliber. This is because when they speak well about you , it is not because they care but because of what they will receive.

Finally, my dear friend, when men begin praising you , remember Jesus during Holy Week ; for the very people who are will praise you , are the very once also who will condemn you.
