TAKORADI KJSI HOLDS ARMOUR OF GOD BLESSING AND INVESTITURE CEREMONY AT TAKORADI

Our Lady, Star of the Sea Commandery No. 397, Knight of St. John International, Takoradi on the 7th April, 2018 held its 3rd Edition Armour of God Blessing and Investiture ceremony at the Star of the Sea Cathedral in Takoradi .

The Armour of God Blessing and Investiture is a ritual which is intended to provide newly uniformed Knights with a greater understanding of the importance of the Knights of St. John, International Military Order. The focus of the ceremony is to express to a Knight the importance of wearing the “Armour of God” as stated in Ephesians 6:10-20 within their daily lives. They were then invested with Coat, Belt, Sword and Helmet.

In the homily, Very Rev. Fr. Peter Kaitoo, the Cathedral Administrator who stood in for Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie relayed the Bishop’s congratulatory message to the candidates. He also reminded them that “Life is a struggle and therefore there is a need to arm themselves with protective clothing to shield themselves” . He further charged them“ not to fight with their strength but with the strength of God since he is the only source of their lives who can protect them in this world”. He therefore called on the candidate to be vigilant wherever they find themselves either in the garment or not so that their lives will be testimony to society”.

In all 23 candidates were invested (10 officers and 13 Sir Knights)

Present at the programme were Past Grand President Brid. Gen. Koomson-Barnes, Commandery No. 499 Effiakuma, Commandery No. 354 Sekondi, Ladies Auxiliary No. 330 – Takoradi and Holy Rosary Choir- Takoradi
